Primary Services

CBA

A time limited service in a community employment site that allows the consumer to have a hands on work experience. This also allows the job coach the opportunity to assist with problematic areas and make the appropriate suggestions for service provision.
Often times the consumer is permanently employed in the CBA site if a proper job match is determined. When the site does not have a proper job match or there are no current openings the development staff provides continued job search activities. The CBA is often the first stage of services in order to establish a baseline of a consumer’s vocational path. Consumers are paid for their work efforts and are covered under BWC and liability while being provided this service.  A Job Coach attends with the consumer at all times during this service. Consumers are rated on a behavioral characteristic scale which aides in determining vocational services and needs.  (May be provided in a group setting)

Job Coaching

Provides support services to the consumer and employer in the areas of training, entry requirements, skill acquisition, social adaptation, job retention and essentially any situation where individual supports are needed to achieve or maintain employment. Coaches attend community based assessment with the consumer as well as the initial phases of a new job. When needed, coaches will also attend job shadowing, career exploration activities, job interviews, work adjustment services, follow along or as otherwise stated on the ISP.
Job Coaching is provided on an individual basis and is time limited. The process is designed to assist in the achievement of total independence. When achieved the coach fades from the work site.  Job Coaching can be provided as an initial service or at any point throughout service delivering or can be a stand alone service to persons already employed who are having retention issues.

Job Development

Job Developers are active in many aspects of a case. Developers set up community based assessments, provide job search skills, resumes, and job leads to consumers and link employers with appropriate applicants. Employment readiness services are also provided by the Job Developer.
Job Development is provided to consumers from the initial intake throughout closure of the case. Job Development services are provided in a variety of ways. The development staff keeps current with local labor market trends and employment opportunities. Various instruments of methodology are used to meet desired employment outcomes.
Job Developers link job coaches, consumers and employers and report progress back to the referral agent. Team's goal is to place persons within 8 weeks of referral to job placement.

Job Shadowing / Career Exploration

Service is time limited and provided by a coach or developer. Consumers are given a pre and post test to determine if specific knowledge has been gained from the experience. The referral agent and consumer determine appropriate job categories / types that the consumer would like to see preformed in order to make a better career choice. The development staff makes arrangements with employers to allow the jobs to be viewed for a short period of time. After completion, a staff meeting is held to determine the appropriate next steps towards establishing a vocational goal. This service can be provided at one employment site or 2-3 different types of employment sites. The purpose is to expand knowledge to plan for the future and job retention.

JSST

Participants of the JSST require assistance in getting self involved in job seeking. Participants who attend this session should be capable of obtaining employment independently or with little outside assistance following the program.
